There are three main areas of study in the first year. These are: Programming, Networking and Digital Graphics. After successful completion of the first year, you will be awarded the Level 4 Higher National Certificate. In year two, you will choose either the Programming or Networking pathways. Upon successful completion you will be awarded the Level 5 Higher National Diploma You will undertake an in-depth study of compatible units for each pathway, which have been chosen to meet with local and national industry opportunities to enhance your chances of employment.The course is taught through lectures, practical sessions, seminars and individual research.Over the course students will have opportunities to be involved in employer related projects and activities to enhance understanding of the technical and individual skills required to be successful in industry. The Higher National Diploma is a highly sought after qualification and successful completion of the course supports progression onto a range of technical, supervisory and managerial roles within the IT sector. It is possible to top up your HND to a BSc by completing a final year at University.
