This course gives you all the basic skills required for the men's industry covering: - Monitor and maintain health and safety - Promote and sell products - Hairdressing consultation - Cut men's hair to a variety of looks - Cut facial hair to a variety of looks You will also learn how to retail products and advise clients on aftercare. As in most salons you will need to be able to promote additional services and products. To enable you to do this we will help you develop promotional and customer service skills. NVQ 3 Diploma in Barbering is an internationally recognised qualification within the hair and beauty industry. Your theory an practical work will be continually assessed throughout your course. A portfolio will be built up containing assignments, projects, practical work and tests. The course is a careful balance of theory and practical work. You will be able to gain extra experience in the College salon and reception area.You will gain an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Barbering and be able to apply for work within a barbering shop, or those students wishing to study more advanced or specialist techniques as a barber exist in a variety of contexts, including: Commercial Baber shops Specialist African type barber shops Independent/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings Product manufacturing and training Television, film, theatre and media Cruise liners Hospital/care homes
