There are 4 mandatory units that are required to be successfully completed and they are: -Understand diabetes -Prevention and early intervention of type 2 diabetes -Understand the initial care of diabetes -Understand the treatment and management of diabetes Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units.Through guided learning using the student support material, one-to-one sessions with the tutor, group tutorials and independent study.Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to: -NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Safe Handling of Medicines -NCFE Level 2 and 3 Qualifications in Healthcare Support Services -NCFE Level 2 and 3 Certificates for Working in the Health Sector -NCFE Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England -NCFE Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care -Level 3 Certificate in Working with Individuals with Diabetes
