Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (VRQ)

This qualification is designed for learners interested in, or new to, working in adult social care in England. It covers a range of key areas of knowledge applicable to working in the sector. There are 9 mandatory units that are required to be successfully completed and they are: -Principles of communication in adult social care settings -Principles of personal development in adult social care settings -Principles of diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care -Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care -Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or childrens and young peoples settings -Understand the role of the social care worker -Understand person-centred approaches in adult social care settings -Understand health and safety in social care settings -Understand how to handle information in social care settings Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units.Through guided learning using the student support material, one-to-one sessions with the tutor, group tutorials and independent study.Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to: -NVQ in Health and Social Care -NVQ in Children and Young people -VRQ in Equality and Diversity -VRQ in Dementia
