Level 3 Diploma for Children's and Young Peoples Workforce - Work Based

The course involves completing 9 units that relate to various areas of childcare. There are 5 core units, which all students must complete, and 4 optional units relating to your area of expertise. The core unit titles are: -Develop positive relationships -Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children -Promote childrens development -Reflect on and develop good practice -Protect and promote childrens rights The qualification is an NVQ. To gain the qualification, learners will be required to be assessed by a qualified assessor, and will be asked to produce a portfolio of evidence to show that they meet the required standard. Learners must be able to demonstrate their knowledge and practice. Attendance at college is on a part-time basis; learners are expected to attend at least 80% of the programme. Learners will be shown how to gather evidence to meet the National Occupational Standards, in order to gain their NVQ in Childrens Learning, Care & Development.Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.Foundation Degree in Working with Children, then Early Years Professional Status (EYPS).
