The following units are covered: -Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety -Provide facial skin care treatment -Provide pedicure services -Provide manicure services -Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and eyelashes -Carry out waxing services -Develop and maintain effectiveness at work -Promote additional services or products to customers -Provide make-up services -Fulfil salon reception duties You will also learn how to sell beauty treatments and products and advise clients on services. We will help you develop reception and customer service skills, as in the industry you will need to be able to make appointments, handle queries and sell a range of products. This is the NVQ 2 Beauty Therapy (General pathway), which is an internationally recognised qualification within the beauty industry. Your theory and practical work will be continually assessed throughout the course. A portfolio will be built up containing assignments, theory workbooks, practically assessed work and mandatory exams. The course is a careful balance of theory and practical work. You will be able to gain additional experience in the college salon and reception area. An insight into the career prospects of beauty therapy can be gained if you visit the industries exhibitions through trips that we offer and receiving tutorial advice and guidance as well as having visiting speakers from product companies.Your theory and practical work will be continually assessed throughout the course. A portfolio will be built up containing assignments, theory workbooks, practically assessed work and mandatory exams.
