BTEC Nationals Information Technology is the course to choose if you want to gain a broad knowledge of the many different aspects of the IT industry. As part of the course you will develop in-depth knowledge of Information Technology Systems, you will create systems to manage information with the option to complete units on Social Media in Business, Website development, computer game and mobile app development, as well as other units. Your knowledge, understanding and application of skills will be assessed using coursework for most elements of learning but will also include 2 exams and 2 controlled assessment tasks all set by the exam board and marked by them. Students can take part in a week long work experience as part of their BTEC and the option of a trip to Disney Land Paris is also available. This course will give you the skills and knowledge to move successfully into a university degree of any sort relating to the IT and Computer Science industry or equally into an Apprenticeship in those fields.
