The course structure puts the emphasis on practical work; students will also be introduced to a variety of experiences exploring a range of photographic techniques. Students will explore a series of relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to photography and a wider range of art, craft and design, both from the past and more recent times. Underpinning their work will be a series of sketchbooks, workbooks and journals, as well as producing a portfolio of presented work. Students are required to work in one or more areas of photography: Portraiture, Landscape, Still life, Documentary/Photo Journalism, Experimental imagery and installations. This course will help you to gain a broad understanding of a variety of areas of Photography, develop your skills and knowledge with a range of media and materials, apply your learning in a realistic and practical way and build a portfolio of work for entry into higher education courses.
