Geography A Level

UPDATED 20161007 14:33:31

There has never been a better or more important time to study Geography and it is one of the most relevant courses you could choose to study. Geographers at A Level investigate the big global challenges such as climate change, population issues, globalisation and natural hazards. You will gain knowledge and an increasingly evaluative understanding of significant issues like feeding the world's people, biodiversity under threat, superpowers, the increasing development gap and the role of technology in solving such issues. Geography will help you learn about the world you live in. Through the A Level course you will write reports, use the latest Global Information Systems, make decisions, ask questions, analyse material and think creatively and independently. Geographers are good communicators who have spatial, social, economic and environmental awareness. They are good problem solvers, team players and well-rounded flexible thinkers. This also makes the course demands a logical discipline and imaginative creativity geographers very employable. Whatever your passion for the world, Geography will provide you with knowledge, understanding and transferable skills that will reward you personally and academically. The A Level course also includes a residential fieldtrip to Barcelona in December to investigate Extreme Weather and Rebranding Places.
