Students are encouraged to relate all aspects of practical performance towards their theoretical studies in Physical Education. Excellent facilities include sports-hall, multi-use all weather pitch, tennis/netball courts, grass football and rugby pitches. The course builds upon and extends all theory work covered at GCSE level.
Name: Physical Education Qualification title: OCR Physical Education H555 Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment The A level consists of three written papers and one practical coursework piece. The first of the three written papers is based on Physiological factors affecting performance which is a 2 hour written paper and contributes 30% towards the A level. The second is based on Psychological factors affecting performance, is a 1 hour written paper and contributes 20% towards the A level. The final written paper is based on Socio-cultural issues in physical activity in sport which is a 1 hour written paper and contrinutes 20% towards the A level.
