To assist in the development of the spoken language we are fortunate to have the services of native-speaking language assistants. We also encourage students to get involved with language clubs and lesson support in the lower school. During Year 12 we encourage students to do a work experience placement in either France or a French-speaking country. Students are offered the opportunity to take part in the International Leaders Programme.
Name: French Qualification title: AQA French 7652 Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment The A level comprises of 3 parts. Paper 1 which is an examination of listening and reading skills, with translation into English and from English into French. This contributes 40% towards the A level grade. Paper 2 which is a written examination comprising of an essay on a set text and an essay on a film/ set text. This contributes 30% towards the A level. Paper 3 which is an oral assessment and contributes the final 30% towards the A level. The speak assessment includes a presentation and discussion of an individual research project.
