The Biology A Level comprises 6 units: • Development of practical skills • Foundations in biology: cells / biological Molecules / DNA / enzymes / membranes • Biological exchange surfaces and transport in plants and animals • Biodiversity, evolution and disease • Homeostasis, hormonal and nervous systems, photosynthesis and respiration • Genetics, evolution and ecology The course includes a 3-4 day field trip in which there is particular focus on the field skills in Ecology and the application of statistical techniques.
