A Level Biology

The A Level Biology course builds on the knowledge and understanding gained at GCSE and has been designed specifically to ensure that students learn in both an engaging and contextual way. The aim of this course is to encourage students to develop their interest in and enthusiasm for Biology and to analyse how the different areas of the subject relate to one another. Mathematical skills will be integrated throughout the course and will include the use of arithmetic and numerical computation, algebra, graphs and the statistical analysis of data. Students wishing to study A Level Biology should have an enquiring mind, a sound work ethic, an interest in the subject and a scientific curiosity about the developing world. Topics include: - Cells, Exchange and Transport - Molecules, Biodiversity, Food and Health - Communication, Homeostasis and Energy - Control, Genomes and Environment
