You will study two modules in the first year and two further modules in the second year. In the first year you will study: Global Challenges - This unit examines topics such as global hazards, global warming, globalisation, population and migration. Geographical Investigations - This unit includes residential fieldwork to study topics such as coastal environments and the social geography of rebranding. In the second year a further two modules are studied: Contested Planet - This unit examines Energy Security, Water Conflicts, Biodiversity Under Threat, Superpower Geographies, Bridging the Development Gap and Technological Fix. This will also involve undertaking an assessed synoptic unit based on one of the above topics. Geographical Research - In this module students undertake geographical research on one of the following topics: Tectonic Activity, Cold Environments, Food Supply, Cultural Diversity, Pollution or Health and Rural Landscape.
