Students will study four core modules and two applied modules to achieve an A Level qualification in Mathematics. The two applied modules are Decision 1 and Statistics 1 Core Mathematics - These modules extend the work undertaken in GCSE on algebra graphs and trigonometry and introduce new topics which include calculus, series and numerical methods. Decision - This involves using algorithms to solve problems, including searching, sorting, bin packing, shortest path, minimum connectors and critical path analysis. Statistics - This extends the work completed in the data handling part of your GCSE course. The course looks at mathematical modelling in statistics and probability. You will cover probability, discrete distributions, the normal distribution and correlation.
