The course is assessed by both exam and coursework (4 Units – TWO exam units and TWO coursework units). It offers students the opportunity to develop independent project based research, presentation and writing skills. Students will also develop excellent organisational and time management skills during the course. The course content includes subjects such as the Core Values and Services involved in providing health and social care and meeting the needs of individuals throughout the different life stages. Other topics could include the study of Human Behaviour in care settings, or investigation into Disease, Illness and Disability (please see updates on course content on our webpage). This qualification is designed to support access to higher education degree courses including Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Sociology and many others. It also enables students to acquire understanding of the sector if they are considering employment in health and social care.
