Part-time GCSE maths application

This is a 32 week course which starts in September 2016 and is completed by taking the GCSE exams in May/June 2017 (dates to be confirmed). In the first term (September to December), you will follow a programme of study which will provide the groundwork for the GCSE maths exams in June.   There will be a mixture of whole class and individual working and you will be given the opportunity to take the Level 2 Functional skills Maths qualification if you have not already achieved this.  All day time classes are of 3 hrs duration and are available every Friday during term time in Trowbridge, Chippenham and Salisbury from 11.15 to 14.45 with a 30 minute lunchbreak from 12.45 – 13.15.  Evening classes are also for 3 hrs and are available in Devizes and Trowbridge on Mondays; Chippenham, Devizes and Salisbury on Tuesdays; Warminster on Wednesdays; Chippenham, Salisbury and Trowbridge on Thursdays.  These courses are free of charge if you do not already hold a Level 2 equivalent or C grade or above at GCSE.

Name: Part-time GCSE maths application Qualification title: - Qualification type: GCSE or equivalent Assessment You will be expected to attend the taught sessions regularly and be encouraged to develop your maths skills through group activities, paired activities and individual working.  You will also be introduced to a range of e-learning facilities to support your development and there will be an expectation for you to complete work outside the classroom ( ‘homework’). Class assessments will be held on a regular basis and these will be designed to develop your skills and fully prepare you for the GCSE final exams. Entry requirements

The course is free of charge to those of you who do not already hold a Level 2 equivalent or C grade or above at GCSE. You will be required to provide your own stationery, scientific calculator and measuring instruments.
