Cake icing and sugarcraft is as much of an art as it is a craft. Anyone who is familiar with this activity will understand that there is as much pleasure to be gained from designing, making and showing off these creations as there is from eating them! Our course, delivered in three blocks of 10 week sessions, is open to anyone with an interest and enthusiasm in cake icing and sugarcraft and who may have wondered how these beautiful cake creations are made.

You will be required to purchase basic ingredients and materials to use each session. You will need your own basic equipment: Ball tool Small non-stick rolling pin (6") Non-stick board Foam pad Petal base/trex Pallet knife (sugarcraft not kitchen type) Florist oasis or polystyrene (to put wired flowers into when making) Small wire cutters Nail scissors Tool box Edible glue/CMC powder (pinch mixed with boiling water in small jar) Various size paintbrushes (Tutor will advise) White sugar flower paste There will be various cutters, wires, paste and dusting colours required throughout the course. ProgressiveThis is a progressive course that consists of three individual terms. Students are generally required to complete the first course before moving on to parts two and three, however it is possible to join mid-year if you have appropriate experience.
