THESE COURSES ARE FREE OF CHARGE IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HOLD THIS GCSE AT GRADE C OR ABOVE.A GCSE qualification in mathematics is required as a basic entry standard by many employers, colleges and universities. Therefore, if you are thinking of improving your job prospects and/or going to university this course is a must. We will offer the Higher paper to those candidates who demonstrate suitability via formative assessment after completing the first term and this will largely rely on achievement through independent study.

Name: GCSE Maths - Evening Qualification title: GCSE in Mathematics B Qualification type: Assessment The GCSE Maths course followed is at Foundation level - grades available C to G. You will sit two examination papers at the end of the course. Paper 1 will be non-calculator based. The duration of this exam will be 1 hour 15 minutes. Paper 2 will be with the use of a calculator and will be for 1 hour 45 minutes.There is no coursework assessment, as part of the final marks, for this course. You will be given regular homework throughout the duration of the course to check on your progress. You should aim to spend at least 3 hours on independent study each week in addition to the time spent in class.
