Award In ESOL Skills for Life (speaking and listening) (Entry 2) (QCF)

This is an English language course for adults of any age who live, temporarily or permanently, in this country and do not have English as a first language. The course is 14 weeks and leads to an Entry Level 2 ESOL exam in Speaking and Listening. Lessons will be 2¾ hours twice a week.  There is an additional daytime ESOL Workshop session of 2 ¾ hours which you can enrol on. Please note that College courses will not run on Bank Holidays or Staff Development days.

In addition there will be exam practice during the course to aid in preparing for the speaking and listening exam. You will also have an Individual learning plan (ILP) with your own learning goals to help you focus on aspects of speaking and listening which you find particularly difficult. Entry requirements

You are expected to attend lessons regularly to ensure success on this course.  You will need: • An English - English dictionary• A file, pen and paper for class work• The internet to help you do work on your own• A tablet, laptop or mobile phone may also be useful tools as many Apps can support your language learning. You can enrol on the ESOL Workshop which will support you with your exam course at an extra cost. If the College cancels your course, the fees you paid will be refunded. If you cancel your course at least 7 days before the start of the course, you will get a refund but you will have to pay an administration fee. If you get Jobseeker's Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (Work Related Activity Group only), Universal Credit (because of unemployment and are mandated to undertake skills training) or another state benefit and are currently unemployed, you may be eligible to full fee remission for this course.
