GCE A Level in French

UPDATED 20161005 12:13:17

In order to gain the higher grades at Advanced Level, a student needs to demonstrate the capacity to use grammatically correct language at a sophisticated level. The emphasis is on communication, building on the skills developed at GCSE. The course is topic based enabling students to develop a broad cultural knowledge and understanding of the language. In the present political climate in Europe, languages have become more important than ever. Degree courses involving the study of languages are increasing in variety and number. Languages combine well with virtually any other ‘A’ level subject and complement areas such as Business, Economics, the Arts and Sciences.
