This is an opportunity for new learners to be introduced to the basic techniques of Upholstery. Beginners will be able to re-upholster a small item of furniture such as a footstool or dining chair and name and identify tools to be used and demonstrate their safe useIt could also be for more experienced learners who wish to continue their work, including stripping old upholstery, evaluating the condition of the frame and recognise necessary repairs.It will also cover if needed, assessing individual items of furniture to determine the appropriate type of re-upholsteryIdentify appropriate filling/stuffing/webbing and how they will be usedIdentify/evaluate/measure suitable fabric/trimmings/buttons and how they will be usedShow knowledge of colour and design principlesRe-upholstering an item of furniture using traditional or modern methods.
