A one-day workshop to study the main techniques of creating expressive portraits of animals. Working with Artists' Soft Pastels from photo reference (close-ups). You may bring your *own photo or select from those provided. Develop the main shapes and proportions. Practical tips: using various marks for different effects with pastels; blending techniques; adding texture and detail. Information about the materials. Demonstrations at each stage. A complete pastel portrait should be achieved by the end of the session. The overall aim is to help you gain skill and confidence through practical work; discussion; demonstrations and one-to-one support. *Photos should be large enough to see details clearly
