Drawing & Painting - Exploring Light & Shade

UPDATED 20161005 09:51:04

The course will establish a few basic methods of drawing and painting through the use of sketchbook, photographs, found images or direct observation. You will learn about light and shade by the use of tone, tints and shades and also explore and understand how to apply colour to shadows and the use of cool and warm colours. We will practice these skills by completing a simple landscape painting using the 3 primary colours. You will gain some confidence in using painting materials and review work through a group discussion and one to one support. The overall aim is to help you develop techniques and methods on how to suggest light and shade and to encourage you to join a longer course in order to develop further. This could be used as an addition to another longer painting course.
