For those with a love of performance, the Performing Arts course at Madeley Academy is designed to develop student's specialist and more general skills within the Performing Arts disciplines. Through practical exploration and performance work, students will develop and strengthen essential technical and performance skills. In addition, they will also build their understanding of research, critical analysis and evaluation; essential skills for students wishing to apply for Higher Educational establishments or careers within the sector. Performing Arts is also an excellent course for developing a range of transferable skills, in turn benefiting a wide range of careers. This exciting and varied course is designed to build attributes sought by Universities, Vocational Colleges and employers such as independence, team work, leadership and management, self-discipline, communication and self-confidence. BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Performing Arts (equivalent to 0.5 of an A Level) Examples of units studied Mandatory units: Investigating Practitioners Work, Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Performing Arts (equivalent of 1 A Level) Examples of units studied Mandatory units: Investigating Practitioners Work, Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance, Group Performance Workshop A fourth additional unit will be selected from the range available by your course tutor BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Performing Arts (equivalent of 2 A Levels) Examples of units studied Mandatory units: Investigating Practitioners Work, Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance, Group Performance Workshop, Performing Arts in the Community, Individual Performance Commission, Final Live Performance to an Audience Two additional units will be selected from the range available by your course tutor.
