What is it? This is an exciting and varied course looking at singing, dancing and acting and aims to provide budding West End stars with the skills to apply for higher education courses, or vocational training in the industry. Why study this course at Blackpool Sixth? This course will develop skills in all three disciplines of acting, singing and dancing. We offer a range of workshops with professional performers, focusing on industry standards and high expectations. We develop work experience opportunities in the community which enhance your performance credentials. What will I study? This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the performing arts industry. You will learn about how the performing arts business works, as well as developing your technique and performance skills in acting, singing and dancing. You will study existing practitioners reflecting on works from current and past repertoire to develop your own creative portfolio, preparing you for the world of theatre/performance.Assessment. You will be assessed via a combination of both written and performance assessments, which will be marked both externally and internally. Where does it lead? Many of our past students have progressed on to study performing arts vocational training courses at prestigious institutes such as; LIPA, Urdang, Performers College, Bird College, Liverpool Theatre School, Mountview to name but a few. Many of our students have also followed a university degree programme at places such as; Cumbria, UCLAN, Liverpool, and Manchester. Students have gained work in the industry in a variety of roles including; performers, directors, stage managers, set designers, technicians and teachers.
