What is it? A practical and vocational course designed to provide hands on experience and practical learning of a wide range of film and television styles and techniques. What will I study? In your first year you will study: storyboarding for digital media; sound editing; fiction film production; media work skills and single camera techniques. In your second year you will study: an enterprise project; scriptwriting; film editing; multi-camera techniques and responding to a creative brief. Assessment. Assessment will mainly be through internally assessed coursework and external examination. Your performance throughout a production will also be assessed. There will be a range of production briefs as well as a substantial written element. Where does it lead? The course is a recognised stepping stone to both degrees and HNDs in TV and film-related subjects, and is highly regarded as it offers both the appropriate qualification as well as the experience of working on productions using industry standard technology. Former students have progressed to Westminster University and Ravensbourne University to study practical film-making. Career paths include: directing, producing, post-production, camera work and research.
