What is it? You will study several projects through live briefs, community links and explore a variety of disciplines fine art, craft, design, photography, graphics, textiles, specialising towards the end of the course. What will I study? Core units cover visual communication and the creative process. This includes recording the world around you, researching, practising and applying techniques to complete final outcomes. You will study disciplines including photography, graphics, textiles, painting and fine art, specialising in your chosen field in the second year. You will develop your critical and analytical skills and create a large portfolio of work. Assessment: Assessment is continuous with 60% coursework and 40% external assessment at the end of the first and second year. Where does it lead? The qualification has been designed to provide progression onto university higher education courses. Past students have progressed on to a wide range of courses including TV and film set production, graphic communication, illustration, fine art and design for publishing.
