BTEC Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care covers the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development across the human lifespan and the factors affecting health. Learners also focus on the principles and practicalities that underpin meeting individuals’ care and support needs, which are the foundation of all the care disciplines. The BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care is equivalent in size to one A Level. It consists of four units. The first two units are assessed externally and cover Human Lifespan Development and Working in Health and Social Care. A further two units are assessed internally using coursework assessment and cover meeting individual care and support needs and psychological perspectives to health and social care.
