The course will enable students to develop anunderstanding of philosophical issues and ethicaltheories. It is suitablefor students who enjoy questioning the biggerpicture and want to critically discuss the issues. Students are expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of religion including religious belief, thought and relevant issues; explain the nature of religious beliefs and teachings and their impact on individuals, communities and societies; make connections across different aspects of the study of religion and belief. They must also be able to analyse and critically evaluate questions and issues related to religious beliefs, values and teachings: apply knowledge and understanding of religion; construct well-informed and balanced arguments using evidence and reasoning. This is a challenging but very rewarding subject, especially for those who like to ask WHY?
