This course allows you to further your interest of the broader issues in the World today and how the experiences of the last 30 years have shaped it. It responds to world events as they happen allowing opportunities for analysis and debate, providing a good platform for study in Higher Education. The course is split into two sections: Unit 3: (GEOG3) Contemporary Geographical Issues (60% A2). You will have the opportunity to study the following topic areas: Plate Tectonics and Associated Hazards, Weather and Climate and Associated Hazards, World Cities, Contemporary Conflicts and Challenges Unit 4: (GEOG4B) Geographical Issue Evaluation (40% A2). In this unit you will use your skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. An advance information booklet is pre-released 3 months prior to the exam to facilitate your research into an area which extends from the specification content.
