You will cover current affairs and will regularly watch and read the news. Topics covered in Year 13 include War, Terrorism, Immigration, Poverty, Wealth, Religion, Traditions, Beliefs, Human Rights, Politics, Crime, Punishment as well as the Year 12 topics in greater detail. Unit 3: (6FR03A) Speaking. You will prepare a minute stance on an issue of your choice and then be ready to debate it with the teacher for four minutes. You will then have a conversation on a variety of issues that have been studied over the year for the remaining eight minutes. Unit 4: (6FR04) Writing and Translation. In this unit you will complete a short translation then two essays of 240-270 words. The first is a discursive essay on a contentious issue (choice of five titles) and the second is a research based essay on a film or topic that has been researched over the year (no choice of title).
