(1) Performing: A Musical Performance. You will offer two (or more) contrasting pieces to form a short programme lasting 10-15 minutes. (2) Composing: Developing Musical Ideas. You will widen your knowledge and use your compositional skills with greater sophistication. You will also choose from traditional techniques, free composition or arranging to produce one finished composition or arrangement. (3) Music in Context. You will study these aspects of music with your teacher in order to prepare yourself for examination: listening, score reading, history, set works and analysis.
