You are currently working in a Dental Practice for a minimum of 16 hours per week. Or alternatively you would like to pursue a more advanced study within *Oral Health Education *Sedation Nursing *Orthodontic Nursing *Dental Hygiene *Dental Therapy You will have the opportunity to study the following compulsory syllabus as set by the National Examination Board for Dental Nursing Duties and role of Dental Surgery Assistant Reception Clerical and Administration duties Anatomy & Physiology Pathology Microbiology Causes and prevention of Dental Diseases Sterilisation Instruments and Equipment Dental Anatomy and Physiology Dental Drugs and Materials Restorative Dentistry Orthodontics Anaesthetics Minor Oral Surgery Emergencies Dental Radiography Health and Safety at Work Act During the one-year course you will have the chance to visit a leading central London Dental Practice and experience the varied aspects of a progressive dental laboratory.

Name: National Diploma in Dental Nursing Qualification title: Non regulated provision, Level 2, Medicine and Dentistry Qualification type: Other regulated/accredited qualification Assessment There will be continuous assessments which include: Homework Mock Term Examinations Practical National Examination in November/May You have to complete a record of experience signed off by your employer. You may also need to have a number of work based observations and will need to sit final exams. If you fail either sections of the exam ( written or OSCE ) you will need to return to the college for additional tuition to enable you to pass the re-sit exam . There will be a cost element for this tuition (TBC) plus the re-sit fees - written -£50.00 & OSCE - £200.00.
