Are you interested in pursuing a career in the fashion or textiles industries?This course covers a wide range of specialisms from fashion and textile design, creative research and development, observational, technical and life drawing, fashion illustration, concept building, customer and market profiling, range planning, pattern cutting, garment and accessory production techniques, printed and constructed textiles, fashion industry and business, contextual studies, visual communication styles and techniques, colour exploration, fabric and fibre knowledge and computer-aided design. During this course you will have the opportunity to create your own textile pieces and fashion collections and have the chance to see your work come to life during public fashion shows and final year exhibition.Core studies include:Fashion and textile designFashion illustrationTextiles techniques and processesPattern cuttingGarment construction.

Name: Fashion Design & Production BTEC Foundation / Extended Diploma Level 3 Qualification title: Extended Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Continuous assessment of course work in the first and second years across a range of mandatory and professional specialist units. Assessments will be project based, set and marked by course tutors. There will also be externally set tasks that will be marked by the awarding body.
