Web Design (Beginners)

The programme will enable students to analyse and design web pages using graphics to enhance their presentation and publish and promote a web site. In particular students will learn: * An understanding of how the World Wide Web works? * A good overview of the web design process * HTML Mark-up Language * Text formatting * Insertion of images * Creating tables * Navigation using hyperlinks and image maps * Design documentation * Introduction to basic CSS styling for layouts and more! * FTP publishing

Name: Web Design (Beginners) Qualification title: Non regulated provision, Level 1, ICT Practitioners Qualification type: Assessment The course will be primarily practical in nature. There is no formal assessment to complete. On completion, students will be awarded a Tameside College Certificate. Entry requirements

* Access to online resources containing all relevant handouts and demonstration exercises written by college staff * All students who register are eligible for a full copy of the Microsoft Expression Web and Microsoft Expression Design software packages also students can use the Adobe CS6 Web Design package inside college.
