These qualifications are designed for learners employed in hospitality roles such as bar people/managers, conference and banqueting assistants/managers or waiters/waitresses, who need to develop or consolidate their skills. Learners are required to take mandatory units which cover aspects of maintaining a safe, hygienic and secure working environment, working effectively as part of a hospitality team, maintaining food safety and giving customers a positive impression of themselves and their organisation in a hospitality environment. Learners then have a choice of optional units covering different hospitality areas such as food and beverage service or beverage service. There is a wide range of optional units allowing learners to choose units to meet the needs of their own work role. Apprentices will gain a better understanding of excellent customer service in the service of both hot and cold beverages. Service hygiene, team working and food safety in the workplace are also included as part of this excellent front of house programme. Once the level 2 is completed, progression routes can be level Hospitality Supervision, Team Leading or Level 3 Management.
