This course will help you gain an understanding of the art and design industry. You will develop a good understanding of the skills and knowledge required to create exciting and imaginative artwork. During the course you will gain an understanding into how artists and designers use visual language and formal elements in their work. You will be encouraged to analyse and gain awareness from a variety of artists and designers from different cultures, time periods and work sectors. Once you have learned the basics, you can work in an experimental and creative manner producing your own distinctive images in media of your choice. You will develop the basic skills across a range of areas and contexts within the subject and gain an understanding of the art and design industry. You will build a portfolio for AS Level entry and possible progression on AS Art, Photography, Graphics, 3D and Textiles.
