ECDL Essentails and Extra

This course is for those who wish to gain the ECDL qualification at Level 1 (Essentials) or Level 2 (Extra). It will also be of interest to those who have completed a level 1 course, and wish to begin working towards the full ECDL qualification. You should have completed a level 1 course or have a similar level of knowledge. One of the ICT teaching team will discuss the course with you prior to enrolment. For ECDL Essentials, you will study three units using Windows 7: IT User Fundamentals (covering file management), Using Email and the Internet Security for IT Users (a theory module covering security issues, performance and use of a computer). For ECDL Extra, you will study four units using Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 - Word Processing (MS Word), Spreadsheet Software (Excel), Presentation Software (PowerPoint) Improving Productivity Using IT (a mandatory project unit).
