This one-year, full-time day programme is aimed at those who want a highly practical programme of study, providing the general training received traditionally on the first year of an Apprenticeship course. You will develop broad-based electrical installation skills alongside mechanical, fabrication, and electrical engineering skills. You will also study the necessary English, Maths, and IT basics to enable you to successfully progress directly into work or enter into further study at Level 3 in either electrical installation or electrical/ mechanical engineering. The course includes a blend of practical units designed to develop your skills in: installing electrical equipment domestic and commercial rewiring fabrication and welding machining hand-fitting In addition to studying Functional Skills in English, Maths, and IT, you will also develop your analytical skills by studying BTEC units of maths and science specifically for engineering. The course will provide you with access to a range of state-of-the-art workshops and equipment that replicates realistic work environments. This, coupled with work experience opportunities, will provide you with the confidence to demonstrate and practise skills in a broad range of contexts.
