Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour; in particular how and why people behave in certain ways. It can provide theories and suggestions, as well as practical ways of explaining, understanding, and solutions for behaviour. If you are interested in human behaviour and why we are all different but also share similarities, then AS and A Level Psychology is for you. This course would be taken as part of an A Level programme with subjects, such as Sociology and Law. Year 1: Paper 1: Introductory topics in Psychology, including Social Influence, Memory, and Attachment Paper 2: Psychology in Context, including Approaches in Psychology, Psychopathology, and Research Methods Year 2: Paper 1: Introductory topics in Psychology, including Social Influence, Memory, Attachment, and Psychopathology Paper 2: Psychology in Context, including Approaches in Psychology, Psychopathology, and Research Methods Paper 3: Issues and options in Psychology, including Issues and Debates in Psychology and then three Psychology options (for example; Gender, Relationships, and Aggression) Both years are 100% assessed by exam. You will get the opportunity to take part in small experiments to gain an understanding of psychological research. You will also gain skills in critical analysis, essay writing, and independent study during this course.
