GCE AS Level Performance Studies

This is a subject for those students who wish to study all three strands of Performing Arts. It allows you to focus on all three areas of performance gradually choosing two which suit your abilities the most. Performance Studies is an exciting and rigorous A Level that develops performance skills and puts them into production. Working within purpose built theatres and the community you will discover that there is a great deal more to dramadance and music and be able to explore your interests in a variety of contexts.

Name: GCE AS Level Performance Studies Qualification title: GCE AS Level in Performance Studies Qualification type: Assessment Unit One (70% of your AS year)- Creating Performance. This unit is a combination of performances and written coursework. Unit Two (30% of your AS year)- Performance Contexts. One 2 hour written examination. Unit Three (60% of your A2 year) Performance Project. You will devise and perform one piece based on a commission and perform a piece of professional repertoire.
