During the AS course you will focus on working with play texts. You will have the opportunity to study plays from the point of view of a director, designer, performer and critic. You will acquire a knowledge and understanding of the language of drama as well as develop your performing and analytical skills. The A2 course enables you to apply what you have learned in the creation of your own work. In devised theatre you can take on the roles of playwright, performer, designer and director. You will also explore plays from the viewpoint of a director and examine periods of theatre history that have helped shape drama as we know it in the 21st century. Students who complete the course successfully will have an understanding of drama and theatre, analytical and creative skills and an ability to communicate effectively with others.
