By the end of the workshop you will have produced a sample part of a garment, in order to explore through taught practical activity techniques that are specific to Chanel Jackets. You will: Learn how to mark and cut out a couture garment; Quilt lining to outer fabric, a technique very specific to Chanel suits; Learn how to shape parts of fabrics that would normally be darted; Join seams matching stitching lines rather than using seam allowances as a guide; Try out couture methods for finishing edge; Produce a hand worked button hole. You will also receive expert guidance and supervision from a tutor who has many years of creating custom clothing as well as teaching various aspects of creative textiles, dressmaking and tailoring. Please note the purpose of this course is to sample techniques. You will not be making an actual garment. This course is ideal for anyone who has some experience of dressmaking and/or tailoring and would like to take their work up to a higher level of construction and finish. Following this course you may wish to develop your skills further by attending our Fashion Design Pattern Cutting course.
