Lip-reading Intermediate - Step 2

This course follows on from the Intermediate - Step 1 and is set at a suitable pace for the group. The main areas of practice and development are: Building on techniques and developments discussed and practised in step 1 Continue to  improve recognition of the more complex lip formations of the words we speak Continue to investigate more advanced ways to aid understanding speech while in groups, using positional tactics Continue to use up to date and current information on technological improvements for people with hearing lossThis course offers you the chance to get to know how to communicate using the skill of lip reading, thus increasing your inclusion in the community and keeping you in touch with friends old and new.  It could help increase your social inclusion and local community participation. The friendly classroom environment is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people. This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.  You will have completed an Intermediate Step 1 course (or equivalent) and have a sound basic knowledge of the subject. Other courses at the next level may be offered by Skills & Learning or other local providers.
