Giving you the skills to play an important role in the management and conservation of the countryside, this course focuses on deer and game management. You will benefit from an understanding of the different game species found in the United Kingdom, be aware of their habitats and be able to undertake practical estate skills. By the end of the course you will have gained a solid grasp of game management and how it fits into wider countryside management. Course Content includes: Environmental and land-based business; Participate in providing estate maintenance; Tractor driving; Introduction to game management; Conservation and improvement of British habitats; Introduction to deer management; Work related experience in the land-based industries;Functional skills. Successful students can further enhance their skills by enrolling onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma, a work-based qualification or Apprenticeship. Alternatively, should you wish to do so, you may gain employment in the game management industry.
