If you love analysing and investigating both written texts and live performances and being involved in making performances then you will enjoy this course. You will work individually and collaboratively exploring texts',' performance techniques',' theatre practitioners and theorists. You will study a range of materials and explore contexts',' genres and methods of production. What will I study in this subject? AS Level Exploration of Drama and Theatre: You will explore two contrasting plays in conjunction with the work of a chosen theatre practitioner. You will also produce an individual response to a live theatre experience. Theatre Text in Performance: You will take part in a performance project that responds to a professionally published play by a known playwright. A2 Level Exploration of Dramatic Performance: You will work collaboratively to devise',' research and present an original and unique piece of theatre. Theatre Text in Context: You will explore a set text and a set period of theatre history and consider them from the perspective of a director. Assessment AS: Exploration of Drama and Theatre is an internally assessed unit that is made up of both written and performance activities. Theatre Text in Performance will be assessed under exam conditions. A2: Exploration of Dramatic Performance is an internally assessed unit that is made up of both written and performance activities. Theatre Text in Context will be externally assessed with a written exam. Entry Requirements: You need five GCSEs at grades A*-C',' which must include English and maths. A grade B in a related subject is preferred. Career Options: This is an ideal stepping stone to degree level study in arts and humanities subjects',' as well as further study in theatre.
