Duration: 2 years This course is aimed at those wanting to extend their practical',' hands-on making skills and widen their knowledge of art and design disciplines. You will complete a variety of projects which will develop your practical skills in drawing',' illustration',' mixed media',' painting',' sculptural techniques',' 3D design',' printmaking',' photography',' model making and textiles. You will also be required to complete a contextual studies assignment and throughout the course you will develop your portfolio of work for your next educational step or employment. Projects emphasise the importance of research and the creative development of coursework',' learning along the way about various influences and cultural references to allow for a more personal response. You will also be required to sit four externally set practical examinations over the two years. At the end of your second year your work will be exhibited in the College end of year show. Entry Requirements: Five GCSEs A*-C Grade',' must include English',' Maths and an art and design subject or a Level 2 First Diploma in Art and Design',' with C Grade GCSE in English and Maths. You will be required to attend an interview with your portfolio of art and design work to demonstrate your practical and creative skills. You also need a positive recommendation or reference from your school/tutor. Career Options: Progression to higher education or a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.
