Duration : 1 year This course offers a basic introduction to the sport and leisure industry and consists of: - Taking part in sport - Assisting at a sport or active leisure event - Improving own fitness - Risks and hazards in sport and active leisure - Taking part in exercise and fitness - How the body works - Planning own fitness programme - Assisting a leader of sport or active leisure activities to plan and deliver an activity - Working in sport and active leisure - Job opportunities in sport and active leisure You can also study for the Award in Assisting Health-related Activity Sessions (Active IQ): - Planning an activity session - Assist in delivering an activity session Functional skills of Maths',' English and ICT are delivered throughout the course of study and are externally assessed through examinations. You will be assessed through observations',' videos',' practical sessions',' assignment work and examinations (Functional skills only). Please note that you will be required to purchase equipment and clothing from an external supplier for this course and payment will be added for trips (this will be discussed at interview). Entry Requirements: You need four GCSEs grade D-G',' including English and maths at grade E and an interest in the subject. Career Options: Progress on to a Level 2 course. Included in this course there are trips included such as: Bowling',' Curling and regular visits to the sports centre. We also have army team building activities.
