This course is for people who are passionate about cake decoration and involves learning and developing a combination of basic techniques and skills used in the cake decorating industry You will work on a projuect and be supported to learn the techniques required. These could include: Exploring tools and materials Researching and planning a project Completing an individual project of your choice. Learn how to make royal icing, piping, runouts, lace ,embroidery, brushed embroidery, covering a cake with royal icing, piping flowers. Learn how to cover a cake with sugar paste, modelling animals and flowers. Decorating cup cakes with a variety of toppings and novelty cupcakes. Making variety of flowers with and with out wires. How to arrange flowers and decorations on to the cake. You will build a portfolio recording each stage of your project which will be submitted at the end of the course for the qualification. The awarding body for this qualification is NCFE.
